The Track officials at Michigan International Speedway have made the announcement that The Indy Racing League will NOT hold an IndyCar Series race their next year. This does not affect the current year’s race which is scheduled for August 6.
But the Track has something else to boast of. It will host two NASCAR weekends in 2008!

Brazil beat Uruguay on penalties after a bad-tempered 2-2 draw in their Copa America semifinal on Tuesday.
The match ended in an ugly scuffle after Brazil’s celebrations appeared to provoke Uruguay as they repeated their penalty shootout win over the same opponents at the same stage of the previous tournament three years ago.

Argentina routed Peru 4-0 while Mexico defeatedParaguay 6-0 on Sunday to complete the entirely one-sided Quarterfinals at the Copa America.
The two teams will now face each other in their Semifinal on Wednesday in a repeat of last year’s second round match at the World Cup.

Roger Federer matched Bjorn Borg’s record of five consecutive Wimbledon wins at the All England Club by defeating close rival Rafael Nadal in five sets (7-6 (9-7), 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 6-2) in the final match.
After receiving his trophy, Federer said that it was an honor to have Bjorn Borg among the spectators and an even greater honor to play against a champion like Nadal.
